Seems like Mitt Romney has Hurricane Irene to thank for saving face. It was only a week ago that Romney decided to take a swipe at President Obama for vacationing on Martha’s Vineyard, even though he himself had a $2,500-a-plate fundraiser scheduled on Martha’s Vineyard this coming weekend. Romney, speaking of Obama, remarkably said:

It’s too little too late, but we appreciate the fact that he’s going to devote some time to it. Not just going to be on the bus tour, not just going to be vacationing in Martha’s Vineyard, but giving some thought to the American people.

Because of the looming threat posed by Hurricane Irene, the fundraiser has been cancelled. We can now retroactively de-hypoctritize Romney on this one. Even Glenn Beck is saying it’s a blessing.
