The Finest Political Mind of Our Generation
by matt at 7:40 am on January 27th, 2010 in Obama Uber AllesA new Franklin & Marshall poll in Pennsylvania finds Pat Toomey (R) leading Sen. Arlen Specter (D-PA) for the U.S. Senate by 14 points among likely voters, 45% to 31%.
So rather than waiting for Specter and Toomey to beat each other to a pulp during a Republican primary, political genius Barack Obama convinced Specter to become a Democrat. In exchange for a totally meaningless temporary 60th vote in the Senate, Obama discouraged actual Democrats from running (successfully except for little-known Rep. Joe Sestak) and raised money for Specter. Now Specter’s vote is even less important, and it’s Democrats who are in a costly primary battle while Toomey skates through to the general.
I’m sure even the DCeiver can see the political malpractice here.

Actually, I’m terribly pleased that you can discern the malpractice!
