So rape is now a spectator sport in the U.S.?

No, you don’t call 911. Instead, you call friends and family to come and watch. Not just to watch, actually. It’s a spectator sport with audience participation:

“As people announced over time that this was going on, more people came to see, and some actually participated,” (Police Lt. Mark Gagan) said.
