And The Beat Goes On…

We take no joy in this, but it comes as no surprise to anyone who has maintained from the beginning a healthy modicum of skepticism whether the Obama reality would live up to the Obama hype:

The Obama administration said Friday that it would appeal a district court ruling that granted some military prisoners in Afghanistan the right to file lawsuits seeking their release. The decision signaled that the administration was not backing down in its effort to maintain the power to imprison terrorism suspects for extended periods without judicial oversight.

At this point, the Obama administration has racked up a pretty impressive record of seamlessly continuing — and even improving uponBushworld policies which used to be regarded as egregious assaults on the principles of American justice and civil liberties.

And, like I said once before, we’re still only in the first trimester.
