Truth-in-Journalism

Here’s what passes for responsible journalism these days.

The story says:

But the revelations that billions of U.S. taxpayer dollars were funneled through AIG to Goldman Sachs — one of Wall Street’s most politically connected firms — and to European banks including Deutsche Bank, France’s Societe Generale and the UK’s Barclays could stoke further outrage at the entire U.S. bank bailout.

The headline they slapped on it:

AIG massive payments to banks stoke bailout rage

And the culprit is not exactly a minor player in the game: Reuters.

Here are some other potential possibilities that I would love to see them cover the same way, headlining them as fact:
Prick Cheney could be arrested as a war criminal.
George Bush could admit that we did too torture people.
Warren Buffet could admit that Berkshire Hathaway is an elaborate fraud
Bill Gates could publicly apologize for years of unethical business practices by Microsoft.
Reuters could decide to lay off 100% of its worldwide employees.
