Maddow

Really nice that she has a big microphone.

Couldn’t agree more. I was cheering at home when she asked every question I was shouting at the screen. Especially the “why don’t you make these assholes actually hold up the US gov’t in order to force 60 votes?”

    Screw you, Nelson.

btw, Matt, I’ve been trying to come up with a “why I voted for Obama” reason and I’m coming up short. I ain’t sending $1 but you were right.

i’d be happy to post your current thoughts in lieu…

I ain’t sending $1 but you were right.

i wouldn’t ask for or take the dollar, we didn’t have a bet. i do however appreciate the concession, i’m still waiting for all of the hard core obama fluffers to do the same.

    here are my thoughts:

    - could not, would not accept McCain
    - Palin? please.
    - honestly just couldn’t take the stress of being semi-politically aware. I couldn’t get any effing work done after reading anything that came out of Bushworld.

Governance aside, I, like many people I hope, just could not stand 4 years of the same shit. So there is something to be said for hope, but perhaps my hope was limited to having a president who can put a sentence together intelligently. I overheard a coworker saying that listening to Bush speak was like watching a drunk man crossing an icy street, you had to watch but you knew he wasn’t going to make it.

I’ll tell ya, I’m not happy about this whole stimulus plan and how O’s approached it (throwing in tax cuts out of the gates) and how he allows the Repubs to control the message. Not thrilled about slowing down troop withdrawls. Was pretty pissed about his lame “support” for Prop 8 here in CA. (Have you seen the Courage Campaign’s “Fidelity” spot? One has a heart of stone if that doesn’t have an effect.)

So while I’m tired of the same old shit, you’re right, a lot of this looks like just that. The Judd Gregg nom? Being called non-partisan after throwing tax cuts that should not have been in there? At what point does he start kicking some asses and like I mentioned before, him or Reid or someone making the Repubs actually take the floor and have their filibuster party, all the while showing a running tally of how many people just lost their jobs while the Repubs fiddle? At what point do all Americans who wish to get to line up and kick Gonzales et al in the shins? At what point do the Dems trot out a damned posterboard (easily created by any fourth-grader) and show the facts about how much benefits is gained from tax cuts vs. actual stimulus (again, something Maddow does so succinctly) and simply push the facts?

ok, I’ve admittedly rambled all over the place here. I thought I should contribute for once instead of lurking.

keep it up, You and SB are part of my daily routine. Sometimes I think you cross the line with some commenters but in all it’s lovely to watch you beat them up. I do so enjoy when conservatives come trotting in here from some AOL link only to get an earful of righteous ire.

    i appreciate your comments.

i never advocated voting for mccain as you know. i’m just surprised that the left allowed obama to sista souljah them repeatedly and never forced him to earn their votes. he certainly didn’t earn mine.

also, i hear you about how we treat certain commentors. i can tell you that 5+ years of doing this has robbed me of the patience needed to deal with some of the bullshit. i’ll entertain anyone who is actually thinking, but i will not deal with mindless talking points. too many other places for that, i just don’t want it here.
