If you haven't heard of Joe the Plumber or Mitch McConnell, then very little of this post or this blog will probably make sense to you.

If it helps, you can always google both guys.

A news.google.com search for Joe the Plumber should help to clarify the reference in the post.

Mitch McConnell is not really a name I have heard of before. I am still, kind of, confused what he is going to do exactly as an analyst/plumber.

They all seem to have a perfect solution for the problem. Stimulus is good ... and 2 min later .. stimulus is bad , bla bla bla WTF?? Wake up people!

National Economic Disaster, means we need to build our military to rebuild our nation through wind, solar, and nuclear energy. Start building or redesigning our plants that we need to provide clean energy with the resources we have!

Re 13, I didn't say "every family in America" or "every family in America + unmarried tax-payers with no dependents". I said "every person in the U.S.".

And if you click on that "would only be $300 billion" link, you might be able to straighten out your billions and trillions, and get the point of that question.

It would seem that our Republican senators and congressmen were/are more worried about saving Iraq than saving America.

My party (The Republican Party) caused this problem over the last 8 years and with congressial control for 6 of these years. These same policies on the economy and their full support of the president programs led us to were are today. the American people have decided they want something different. Let the president try a different policies to stinulus the country. If do not, in 4 years he can point to Republicans as blocking change and gain more congressal seat and the office agian. And there will be NO REPULICAN PARTY. Lets not follow McCain and the other Congressman who caused the problem to begin with.

My greatest concern is corporations using the bailout monies to acquire other small companies in order to gain share holder values and then conduct layoffs on employees that had there company acquired. Such is the case when Pfizer acquired Wyeth. 20,000 employees cut and all with taxpayers money. Stimulus bill you at least chunkier portions should go towards families with healthy credit because this would indicate 'conscious' spending and help them in avoiding foreclosures.

Actually, if the government gave every family in America $1 million, it would be considerably less than $200 billion because there's a lot less than 150 million families out there. Even if you also gave $1 million to unmarried tax-payers with no dependents, the sum would still be less than $200 billion. Not a bad idea, if you think about it. Most people would probably pay off their mortgages and credit card debt, and have money left over to invest and buy things. Lenders would be awash in cash, and the real estate market would explode. Then the government would still have a couple of hundred billion to use on infrastructure projects, etc. Anyway, it's fun to think about, but it's not going to happen.
