Undoubtedly, her family encouraged her to seek this position. Perhaps it was based on the family's tradition of public service. I am so disgusted with the "unnamed sources" and persons "not authorized to comment" that infect ALL areas of the news. And I am disgusted with the news media itself. WHY should it be such a big story because Caroline Kennedy decided to withdraw from consideration? The way I see it, she was pushed into seeking the appointment and decided it wasn't worth the gossip, the nasty comments, the rumors and the embarrassment of not being selected. I wish they would leave the woman alone.
