I know it’s hard to believe, but I have some friends who have led somewhat sheltered, suburban lives, free from the corrupting influence of hip hop. And every once in a while I’ll get an email or breathless phone call, one of them having just discovered Gang Starr or Eric B and Rakim. The latest instance does, however, take the cake.
