With time growing short, the $14 billion auto industry bailout bill stalled in the Senate on Thursday as Republicans demanded upfront concessions from the United Auto Workers as the price for their support.
Funny, I don’t remember any concessions from the banks who have already received more than $200 billion under the TARP. Republicans are trying to break the UAW and send a message to other unions, and if Dems don’t knock this down, they will pay a huge price in reduced union support come election time.
