Adventures In Bipartisanship: Lying For The Other Side

by sarabeth at 6:00 am on October 6th, 2008 in 2008 Presidential, St. John McCain

The McCain campaign has several times before informed us with a straight face that John McCain does not necessarily speak for the campaign, that some of the time you need to just totally ignore what he says. I guess that line was getting old, so they came up with something different this time. From not speaking for the McCain campaign, John McCain has graduated to lying for the Obama campaign.

On September 28, John McCain admitted that his health care plan increases taxes.

Exactly a week later, McCain’s no doubt very tired and overworked spokesperson, Tucker Bounds insisted that it is a “100 percent lie” to say that McCain’s health care plan would increase taxes:

First of all, is John McCain’s health care plan actually effectively would do wonders for the middle class. … Health care would get better. It would be more accessible to middle class families … What is (sic) campaign is doing is advertising in complete falsehoods. They’ve said that John McCain wants to tax health care. It is a 100 percent lie.

“They’ve said” refers to the Obama campaign, of course. They lie. And one week ago, John McCain was lying for them. That’s true bipartisanship, my friends.

I think McCain has the worst campaign manager imaginable. Every time a new McCain ad comes out its even more hideous and insulting the previous. McCain looks like he’s crazy. I’ve heard Ron Paul conspiracy theories that are more sound than what McCain’s campaign manager is putting out there.

I don’t think McCain stands a chance. I know it’s dangerous to take anything for granted, but McCain, come on. Why can’t this man take the high road and just see that America has had enough Republican rule and that we the people want to move in another direction. McCain should keep up the fight, but the man seems to want to destroy the American spirit and leave everyone and anyone who has hope in someone other than him left feeling in total despair. McCain come across as a total dirt bag. He’s the only person I know I’ll watch walk away and frankly, I won’t feel bad if we never see or hear from him again. McCain has caused himself complete shame and humiliation. He has earned his reputation for seeming irrational and desperate. God how I wish Obama would just dig a hole and drop McCain in it in Tuesday nights debate, right in front of all of our faces. Sadly, but rightly so, Obama has too much class and we believe Obama, when elected, will work across the party lines in order to get things done and build American trust. This is when I think the stock market may start to turn around.

I think people forget who or what is behind McCain and that is big oil, big pharma, and other corporations who are wanting him to get elected so they will not have to pay more taxes (they hardly pay any anyway), and the wealthiest people in our country. They have the money and the power. Hopefully we can show them the road and take back our country.

And on Tuesday, all Obama has to do is rile McCain, get him to swear or some other uncouth outburst and that shouldn’t be hard to do. McCain has a short fuse and quite a vocabulary, calling his wife the ‘C’ word….

Obama is so cool, calm and collected. I am so glad he is going to be our next president.

The way John McCain operates reminds me of the “Big Lie” theory. Comments like “Obama pals with terrorists” is a perfect example of lies and distortions intended to confuse the public and play on ignorance and fear.McCain’sampaign has now turned to a smokescreen of lies and gross distortion of events in an attempt to hide the truth and the importance of the issues from the American voters. After all, this strategy did work against John Kerry. McCain also wants us to believe that military solutions are the only option in Iraq and Afghanistan, not talking to our enemies and diplomacy. The whole idea of the UN is to maintain dialog between nations in conflict, thats the only way to achieve lasting peace. McCain tries to convince the voters that diplomacy amounts to weakness or it is unpatriotic, another Big Lie.

Ms Brown, I agree with you that we do not need the name calling and trying to destroy people with the lies and untruth. Mcclain have always forgotten what he said he would not do and the edge someone else to do the dirty work for him. but him sarah are a good match because she uses her family to make people feel sorry for her. to be honesty I don’t think she knows what hard work is for a single parent working two jobs, going to school, and raising their childrens. Whether it is a man or woman as single parent it is the same thing. How many women have a job have their husband sitting in the same room when the wife is suppose to be the one working on the job. I am not against women working and want to have the best, but I do not like for another woman to try to use my being a woman to get votes for man who is so incapable of getting it straight. Sarah has one goal in my ant that is for her to be president and todd to be vice president. Mcclain will be lucky if he get to clean the white house because she will have fooled him to give her the president job. Sarah has hard in telling the truth and will stretch the truth for herself. At least with Hillary the nation knew what she is capable of doing, Sarah do her dirty on the down low.
