VP Debate Live Blogging

Reprising his performance from last week’s Presidential debate, Tom is going to be back here tonight at 9pm EDT / 6pm PDT live-blogging the VP debate. I imagine he’ll have a bit more material to work with this time.

    Apparently, she doesn’t come across as laughably pathetic in debates as she does in interviews, so it may not be quite the massacre people think it will be.

    Will it be the Tom & Jamie show again?

    her prior debates were all in alaska, i don’t think you can use them to project future performance.

    that was kind of insulting. i take it back because a couple friends were in alaska this summer and report that palin is not especially loved there. i meant that the issues will be different, and the audience a touch less likely to accept folksy vapidness.

    I’m hoping for a bloodbath too. In my fantasy, it’s such a bloodbath that McCain goes apoplectic and has a minor stroke (or even a very public temper tantrum full of what the British quaintly call unparliamentary language).

    i heard that she does better in debates because you can be on offense rather than defense in debates….that is to say, she can lash out at obama rather than defending mc cain, or herself and therefore she can come across as not so stupid.

    i guess what i’m saying is, i’m worried. if biden blabbers too much and is “mean” to her, or perceived that way we could all be in trouble.

    yes, i will be commenting, though i wish we could blog side by side….

    She’s looking straight at the camera the whole time hoping she will come off as speaking directly to the people and right on the level of the people.

    And all of her comments are directed to the lower middle class and middle class.

    The BBC pointed this out saying that they have to go for those moms who shop at Wal Mart … they are so transparent.

    She’s not answering anything with specifics. She memorized the hell out of her pre study material.
    She’s speaking really fast because she has to get it out before she forgets it.

    but true….it’s not the massacre people were expecting…she’s holding her own.
