John McCain today in Columbus, OH:

My friends, if we continue this surge under this great general, we will come home – and our troops will come home – with victory and honor. And not in defeat.

The great general, of course, is David Petraeus.

Surely one of his many friends could have told John — or maybe even one of the hated lobbyists he keeps so close to his campaign — that the great general has already moved on to other things, and is no longer leading the surge in Iraq?
