You probably didn’t realize this, but there’s a perfectly good reason why we have so many people without health insurance in America. You see, it’s because “we’ve made it increasingly easy in this country for people to get insurance after they get sick”. So they just sit tight and wait, and don’t bother to get insurance till they actually get sick.
That’s the world through the eyes of John Goodman. He’s famous for many things. For example, being a key adviser to the McCain campaign. Or, more specifically, for being the architect of McCain’s health care plan. And for claiming last month that the term “uninsured†is misleading because Americans have access to ER care.
I was going to say: “McCain sure knows how to pick ‘em!”, but, according to the McCain campaign, Goodman is not really associated with the McCain campaign at all. He only crafted McCain’s health care plan. But he did that on a voluntary, unpaid basis. And he has nothing whatsoever to do with the campaign. So please don’t believe anyone who says he does, okay?
