The Experienced Wisdom Of Sarah Palin

I bet you didn’t know why it is important that we work with our allies to keep good relations with Russia.

It’s because you can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska:

PALIN: We’ve gotta keep an eye on Russia. … You can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska.

GIBSON: What insight does that give you into what they’re doing inside Georgia?

PALIN: Well, I’m giving you that perspective of how small our world is and how important it is that we work with our allies to keep good relations with all of these countries, especially Russia.

It’s almost like there’s a higher plan at work here, isn’t it? We need to keep an eye on Russia, Sarah Palin was placed right where she can do it, and lo and behold John McCain is suddenly inspired to pick Palin as his running mate.

(Incidentally, I can see this fellow Gibson getting a lot of hate mail in the near future. The cheek of the man, employing sarcasm with the lovable and much-loved Ma Palin. Apart from anything else, isn’t that a bit like clubbing seals? Or do I mean “shooting wolves from airplanes with high-powered rifles“?)

Her statement was idiotic, but her answer to the question was a good cover. I’m not saying I agree with it, but it was about the best thing she could say after making a stupid remark. This is what worries me. Is America really stupid enough to fall for her?
