Depends on the Definition of Change

Sources: Obama picks Joe Biden as VP candidate – CNN (8/22/08):

Sen. Barack Obama has picked Delaware Sen. Joe Biden to be his running mate, multiple Democratic sources tell CNN.

The longtime Democratic senator was long considered a likely choice for vice president, but the buzz surrounding him intensified after he returned earlier this week from a two-day trip to the Republic of Georgia after Russian troops invaded.

Joe Biden: 36 years worth of change we can believe in. Rumor has it that the Obama campaign has decided to scrap the idea of text messaging supporters with the announcement, and is quickly working to locate a sufficient number of telegraph machines.

Well, it could have been worse. I’d like to personally thank Obama for not picking Chuck Hagel. If Obama was running as a Democrat, I’d donate all the money I just won to his campaign.

I think Obama chose the wrong person to united the party but it is ok. For me is more important that McCain will not become president!
Don’t vote for McCain, he has the same character flaws as John Edwards, an egocentric elitist who cheated on his disabled wife to divorce her for a wealthy woman. He even lied to his wife about his age and that he is separated while he was still living with his wife. And there were rumors he even cheated on her with a lobbyist Vicki Iseman. Once a cheater always a cheater and not surprisingly he was involved in the Keating Five scandal.
Now ask yourself why was he not as he promised in cone of silence but in a limousine while driving to Rick Warren!? He is not a true republican look who his friends is: Lieberman the biggest Flip-Flopper. McCain tells the voters what they want to hear but wait once he is in the white house then he will sow his true face. You don’t need to vote for Obama, just don’t vote for him. You don’t want a pretender who tells heart-breaking POW stories no one can verify, we don’t want a rich over 25 year full time professional politician that acts like a chameleon showing different colors just to stay afloat, we don’t need another rich man that has no clue what means to make enough money to pay the bills.
DON”T VOTE! DON’T VOTE for McCain!!!
Even the story about the cross in the sand may be a fake story: read for yourself http://www.factcheck.org/askfactcheck/did_mccain_lift_his_cross-in-the-sand_anecdote_from.html
DON”T VOTE! DON’T VOTE for McCain!!!

Obama had said that wives and family were off limits in the campaign, but now that Obama flip flopped again, and decided it was ok to take a swipe at Cindy McCain in his latest negative television ad, I think McCain should go after Michelle Obama for saying “America is a mean country” … “It’s the first time in my adult life, that I’m proud to be an American” … taking her kids to Jeremiah Wright’s church, and her going there for over 20 years … etc..

I think it was a good decision to pick Joe Biden. Obama understands what the people want and Joe Biden has the experience to get it. This is still Obama’s show.

    please explain.

So much for “sweeping change” in Washington! Obama’s running mate is another plutocrat and member of the old guard. With luck, Biden may (a) know how many houses he owns, and (b) doesn’t own a $1.4 million one. But he does NOT represent the kind of change leader I want in D.C. Nope, I’m going to write in Clinton — and hopefully others will do the same. I liked her from the beginning. Biden does NOT make Sen. Obama any more appealing.

    oh boy.

He just might have selected a running mate who fits in with his vision of change – if you Americans had not shown via the polls that you are quite happy with more of the same. Dont complain, you are getting what you want – EXPERIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEENCE!!!!

I agree with Mat. People have been making a big deal out of Barack’s lack of experience. So what does he do? He chooses a running mate with a lot of it, more so than even his elderly opponent.

well, obama himself has decided that change and judgement are the hot buzz words of 08.

biden has been in the senate for 36 years, and voted for the iraq AUMF.

I do believe that Obama picked the right guy. Picking a too smooth politician to go with a too smooth politician would be a mistake. Obama is already vulnerable to attacks on his image as an experiential light weight that is all show. The Obama campaign has been getting beaten up in the media and has had no attack dog to bite back. Biden provides a resume and a straight talking bulldog who people will not only tolerate aggressive and blunt talk from, but will actually expect it. Like good couples opposites don’t attract, but people who complement each other’s skills do.
The electorate’s tolerance, perhaps even craving for blunt, honest, authentic candidates is clear. McCain’s nomination is a result of this and Obama’s selection of Biden shows he is listening.

Biden is the biggest cheater in Politics. He uses words from other politicans because he is not bright enough to come up with his own. He cheated in college. He got an F. How in your right mind does this make him qualified for Vice President. Do we really want a cheater in the office?

Already have plenty of cheaters in the office. Could be worse. Could be better, though. I was hoping for Richardson. Just about anything would be better than McBush, though.
