Reading Condi’s Mind

On Fox and Friends this morning, our Condi was asked if she was interested in being McCain’s running mate. She responded:

Obviously, it’s dearly flattering to have people think that way. But no, it’s time for me to go back to Stanford.

Government service is a wonderful thing, Steve, but you have to know when your time is up. And it’s time for new blood and let us leave.

That’s what she said, but what was she thinking?

Fortunately, we at 1115 have recently equipped the State Department contingent of our fly-on-the-wall army with experimental mind-reading devices. So we proudly bring you the thoughts that were running through Condi’s mind as she spoke these words trippingly on the tongue:

John McCain’s running mate? You’re kidding me, right? You’re effing kidding me! No way I’m hitching my wagon to that doomed train. This guy is going to get so badly creamed in November. No way I’m agreeing to put that on my political resume. I’m going to be president, remember? John McCain’s running mate indeed! Let somebody else’s blood flow. It sure ain’t going to be mine. No sir, it sure ain’t going to be my political blood.
