Take this whole “who do you trust to fight The War Against Terror” thing. For the last few months, polls show that McCain leads Obama on this one (41% to 30% in an AP-Yahoo News poll in April, 53% to 39% in an Washington Post-ABC News poll last week).

Pollsters don’t believe in running Obama versus Bush on such questions (although they should, of course, just for fun). But can anyone doubt that Obama would handsomely beat Bush?

So, since McCain just promises a continuation of Bush’s failed policies when it comes to TWAT, how come Obama beats Bush but McCain beats Obama?
