Sky News seems to have a talent for getting George Bush to say things that people may find funny or painful or both. Here’s the latest:

President Bush was asked by a SkyNews correspondent whether the end of his term marked the end of the Bush presidential dynasty that began with his father’s Oval Office tenure 20 years ago.

In response, Bush singled out his brother, who has often been mentioned as a possible Republican presidential contender. “Well, we’ve got another one out there who did a fabulous job as governor of Florida, and that’s Jeb,” he said. “But you know, you better ask him whether or not he’s thinking of running. But he’d be a great president.”

A great president indeed. And here’s how we can be sure. Because it’s certified by the same President who still thinks we’re winning in Iraq, that we don’t torture (people), that he will go down in history as one of the great presidents, that cutting taxes raises revenues, that Brownie was doing a heckuva job, that Harriet Meirs was the most qualified person in the U.S. to be a Supreme Court justice, that the “Seas of David” paintball warriors’ plan to bomb the Sears Tower was a serious terrorist plot.

And because America has so clearly indicated that what it’s looking for now more than anything else — to continue the glorious successes of George Bush’s administration — is not McLame McSame but the real deal, a real live in-the-flesh Bush.
