Prostitution And Poetic Justice

For 33 months, Scott McClellan stood at the podium in the White House press room, and prostituted himself day in and day out in the service of his president rather than serve his county with honor.

Now he’s written a book admitting that he prostituted himself day in and day out by participating in the propagation of propaganda, and like everyone else in Bush’s inner circle, he turned away from the candor and honesty that was so fundamentally needed.

As the Bush White House always does when an ex-Bushie criticizes the president or the administration, the entire Bush cabal of character assassins — led by the current White House Press Secretary prostitute — has jumped on McClellan with hobnailed boots.

In what can only be regarded as poetic justice, they are dismissing his book by saying that he’s just prostituting himself for book royalties:

But Dana Perino, the current White House press secretary, had harsh words for Mr. McClellan, calling him “sad” and suggesting that he mischaracterized his years in the West Wing to sell books.

Personally, I would be inclined to believe La Perino just this once. On the principle that it takes one to know one.

In fact, Perino is probably wondering what to do with herself after January 2009 (since she clearly will not be writing a tell-all book about her years in the service of the president). I’m sure she would do a bang-up job on an anti-prostitution task force. Especially if it’s dedicated to prostitution in high places.
