One week ago I bottom-ticked (nullus?) the President Bush Dishonest Rhetoric Market™. Had I made a purchase at those levels, I would have been cleaned out:

President Bush, defending his record and his rhetoric, said Saturday that his administration has been “clear and candid” about the nation’s economy.

“We saw the economic slowdown coming, we were up front about these concerns with the American people, and we’ve been taking decisive action,” Bush said in his weekly radio address.

Even if we set aside the President’s own economic happy talk, Is it really possible that he’s not counting Hank Paulson in the royal we? Oh well, what does the Treasury Secretary know about economics anyway?
