McCain Is Like A Brain Surgeon Moonlighting As A Rocket Scientist (In Theory)

Mr. Loose Cannon let fly again yesterday. On his favorite subject, namely how safe Baghdad really is:

McCain walks back claim that Baghdad is like a U.S. city.

Yesterday, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) equated the security situation in Baghdad with any American city, telling an audience, “There’s problems in America with safe neighborhoods as we well know.” But he quickly tried to walk back his comment, stating, “I’m not making that comparison. Because it’s much more deadly in Iraq obviously. But it’s kind of the same theory.”

There are people who — with a perfectly straight face — are actually going to vote for this clown to be president?

    McCain talks off the cuff as opposed to many candidates who simply regurgitate past speech material that went through numerous re-writes. The meaning of what he’s thinking and the way it comes out are not always going to be in sync when giving these types of comments but he’s a hell of a lot better than the current administration who actually deserve most of the disparaging comments directed their way…

    A POW who chose not to take the offer to leave early (due to his father’s military status) is hardly a clown. BTW, captured officers are quite often treated more poorly as POW’s. U.S. SERE training attempts to ready pilots for this but even the strongest (mentally) person generally has a breaking point. McCain can’t lift his arms higher than shoulder height because of his torture and he has numerous other long term injuries. His military background will be part of what makes him a potentially formidable general election adversary. Who knows what the final GOP ticket will be but with the economy and Nat’l defense as the likely biggest issues a McCain/Romney ticket would be very strong. McCain/Huckabee could be a strong ticket irt getting the evangelical vote.

    Either way, the GOP would love to see smear talk addressed towards McCain in the general election because that will strengthen their voting base and even pull many independents & a few Dem’s with military ties towards them.
