Fact-checking (Or Not)

Funny how the subject of fact-checking came up in the comments section yesterday, and today I have a post about it.

Here’s MSNBC’s Alex Johnson on the subject of the Texas primaries/caucuses:

…Texas, where 195 of the 228 delegates the state will send to the Democratic National Convention will be chosen in a primary and caucuses Tuesday.

And here’s the AP’s Nedra Pickler:

Texas has 193 delegates up for grabs Tuesday. Of those delegates, 126 will come from the primary, and 67 from the caucus.

So hard to get numbers right, isn’t it? Or is it just unimportant?

(For the record, the odious Nedra Pickler seems to be right. Apparently Alex Johnson has the number from four years ago.)

And this is why you should never take someone’s word when they use “facts.” Always confirm for yourself that they are correct.

As for The Pickler, credit where credit is due.

Makes for a very tedious life, though.
