Fed Up At The Choking-Up Brouhaha: A Late Comment

Sad that sometimes pleasure trips interfere with timely posting, but by and large my trips and vacations are pretty invisible to our readers, and I do whatever it takes to keep posting in a timely manner. So indulge me this time?

Can anyone explain to me WTF choking up has to do with anything?

Why the hell does it matter that Hillary Clinton choked up? Why the hell does it matter why Hillary Clinton choked up?

The Republican candidates-from-hell stand up several times a week and make demonstrably false statements about the issues, about things that are important—to the country, and allegedly to the voters.

Yet, all that lying doesn’t matter to the media. It matters only to liberal blogs. Not to the mainstream media, not to conservative commentators, not to Republican supporters.

But Hillary Clinton chokes up once, and the whole damn nation cares passionately? Columnists and TV turds pontificate on it endlessly? That make any damn sense to you?

So even I, whom no one in their right minds would ever accuse of being a Clinton supporter, am moved to rise to her defense.

And, really, the only reason that I can find for all the column-inches of columnist ink that flowed on this subject last week is that columnists couldn’t come up with anything actually worth writing about. So here’s a radical idea: if you don’t have anything to write about, just don’t write. Or, if you need to work for food, write one of those sophomorically vacuous columns about how there’s nothing to write about.

I do want to hand out dishonorable mentions, though, and today’s goes to Maureen Dowd. She may not have had the most stupidly irritating piece on the subject. But I sure as hell didn’t read them all. And of the ones that I saw, hers was the one that irritated me the most.

And so here’s a heartfelt “Go F**k a Duck” to Maureen Dowd.
