Isn’t that like a convicted rapist pleading to the judge at his sentencing hearing: “But, your honor, I did it for her own good!”?

I don’t know why, but Musharraf always triggers ludicrous associations with rape in my mind.

And it certainly doesn’t help when he describes the rape of democracy in Pakistan in these words:

It was inevitable, in my view, and that is why I imposed it…
