Maybe they are really thinking: “Hey, if anyone deserves to be applauded for betraying America, it’s us, isn’t it? Why is Petraeus getting to steal our glory? Nobody’s betrayed America more deeply than we have, or more often, or more consistently. What do we need to do to get some respect around here?”
No wonder Bush was pissed too. The betrayer-in-chief, standing on the sidelines, unrecognized, while Petraeus gets all the glory.
