Somebody Was Bound To, Sooner Or Later

The great state of Oklahoma decided that there was a buck to be made out of 9/11 and TWAT, and that there was no compelling reason not to make said buck. And that’s why they have been offering a vanity license plate

… that says, “Global War on Terror,” alongside an eagle, the Twin Towers, and a small banner that says, “9/11.”

The state of Oklahoma offers 145 different vanity plates, and I decided not to browse through them all. But I’m certainly wondering if they have a Pat Tillman plate. And something that tastefully expresses solidarity with the victims of the Oklahoma City bombings. I assume they didn’t pass up the opportunity to issue an Anna Nicole Smith memorial plate, but have they thought of a Danielynn plate? JonBenét Ramsey must have been a no-brainer, though. As also Paris Hilton.

Why not branch out into political statements too? Hillary Clinton’s cleavage or John Edwards‘ haircut should be good for few bucks, surely? And aren’t there people dying to pay $36 a year to express either their solidarity with dear old Buttercheeks, or their contempt for him? That would be novel — to offer “for” and “against” versions.

In fact, if they did that with TWAT plates, the FBI could ask for buy the purchase records, and put dangerous supporters of terrorism safely out of harm’s way (in Guantanamo, or worse).
