Now Cross This Line

U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Patrick Leahy granted the Bush administration more time on Tuesday to respond to congressional subpoenas demanding documents in a probe of its warrantless domestic spying program.
The Vermont Democrat took the action at the request of the administration on the eve of its deadline for materials, which he initially set for 2 p.m. EDT/1800 GMT on Wednesday.
Leahy did not immediately establish a new deadline, but reiterated his desire to obtain the materials.
“I hope the White House uses this additional time constructively to finish gathering the relevant information and then works with us in good faith on ways to provide it,” Leahy said.
Yosemite Sam Leahy moves the line in the sand yet again. Fantastic Senatoring jackass. On the same day that Dirty Harriet again ignores Congressional subpoenas, and the same week that the administration invented a whole new privilege, Yosemite Sam expresses “hope” in the White House doing something that they’ve not only never done before, but have actively opposed.
I’m sure he has it all under control though. There’s always another line to be drawn in the sand.
