Depends On The Definition Of Grave

Obama: Impeachment is not acceptable - USA Today (6/29/07):

“I think you reserve impeachment for grave, grave breeches, and intentional breeches of the president’s authority,” he said.

Now in a practical sense, I’m not for impeachment. The votes aren’t there, and even if they were, I don’t think anyone wants Big Time taking over. But let’s not confuse the issue. Bush has been wiping his ass with the Constitution since before 9/11. He’s obstructed justice and lied about it in the US Attorney purge, denied due process to thousands, illegally wiretapped millions, sanctioned torture, engaged in voter suppression, used signing statements to gut laws passed by Congress, and more. WTF would Bush have to do before the Great & Lofty Compromiser considered it “grave?”

I don’t mind that he’s anti-impeachment, but there is simply no good reason to minimize the criminal conduct of this President.
