Huge in Belgium

Long time reader Glen checks in from Beijing to let us know that in addition to their diabolical currency manipulation, the Chinese government is also blocking access to the mighty 1115. I think that this should preclude anyone from ever calling us “commie” again.

To celebrate, I present the sights of the San Francisco Gay Pride Parade:

the altoids boys

the lusty ladies

The full set is on Flickr here.

I didn’t write anything this year, but this post from a couple years ago still stands.

Also this weekend, I shot the San Francisco Dragons vs. Denver Outlaws Major League Lacrosse game.

The rest of those photos are here.

And to square the circle, the first person who comments with the link between parading gay people and lacrosse as suggested by a famous comedian wins my recently finished copy of The Assassin’s Gate - America in Iraq by George Packer.

Oh dear, you’ve exposed JimC to a naked titty again.

(long time readers will recognize that as a reference to the time Matt was paid to pander to the pornographically inclined at suicidegirls.com)

i have no idea and i’m probably not eligible, because (a) i’m family and (b) another one of my aliases won something in the last month (see here: http://www.ahamburgertoday.com/archives/2007/06/aht_readers_favorite_local_burgers.php)

but, knowing you, i’m going to go with george carlin or rodney dangerfield…

normally, of course, family, employees, family of employees, employees of family are all ineligible to win contests.

But a) matt makes up his own rules, and b) no one else seems to want to play, so stand by for an official ruling anon.

just read over again what matt wrote. I don’t think he’s asking for the name of the comedian, but the content of the joke as it were, the statement he/she made linking parading gay people and lacrosse.

Matt is much too modest. It doesn’t just stand, it still totally rocks.

I just read that old post for the first time. (To my eternal shame, as recently as two years ago I was not a regular reader.)

It is, quite simply, one of the best things Matt has ever written. Simple, direct, straight from the heart, passionate but never shrill. (The pictures aren’t half bad too!)

So if you haven’t read it, please do. If you read it before, you know that it’s well worth reading again.
