- The Washington Times: RNC fires phone solicitors - All of them. They’re shutting down their phone solicitation operation. Apparently due to a 40 percent drop in small-donor contributions. That in turn is due to anger at Bush’s support for amnesty for illegal aliens.
- The Olympian: Fort Lewis to consolidate memorials for dead - In a sure sign of real progress in Iraq, Fort Lewis in WA will now hold just one ceremony for all soldiers killed each month. Individual memorial ceremonies are no longer practical; expected losses are too high.
