Bush’s Memorial Day Weekend Terror Plot

Our great and glorious President, George W. Bush, the Supreme Uniter of the sadly divided people who we are, didn’t just declassify a key intelligence bulletin, and share the highlights with us. He revealed its contents in the kind of extraordinary detail that is usually deemed to seriously compromise our intelligence gathering capabilities.

That’s my claim. Judge for yourself:

I’ve often warned that if we fail in Iraq, the enemy will follow us home. Many ask: How do you know? Today, I’d like to share some information with you that attests to al Qaeda’s intentions. According to our intelligence community, in January 2005, Osama bin Laden tasked the terrorist Zarqawi — who was then al Qaeda’s top leader in Iraq — with forming a cell to conduct terrorist attacks outside of Iraq. Bin Laden emphasized that America should be Zarqawi’s number one priority in terms of foreign attacks. Zarqawi welcomed this direction; he claimed that he had already come up with some good proposals.

To help Zarqawi in these efforts, our intelligence community reports that bin Laden then tasked one of his top terrorist operatives, Hamza Rabia, to send Zarqawi a briefing on al Qaeda’s external operations, including information about operations against the American homeland. Our intelligence community reports that a senior al Qaeda leader, Abu Faraj al-Libi, went further and suggested that bin Laden actually send Rabia, himself, to Iraq to help plan external operations. Abu Faraj later speculated that if this effort proved successful, al Qaeda might one day prepare the majority of its external operations from Iraq.

If the President does it, it isn’t treason, I guess.

Oh, by the way, is there any trail of logic — no matter how weak or how convoluted — by which the intelligence information that Bush divulged establishes that if we fail in Iraq, the enemy will follow us home?

Bush declassified the information on Tuesday. So that he could use it in a rabble-rousing speech on Wednesday. But it is, apparently, hugely puzzling to some of our elected leaders why President Bush declassified this information.

For example, “Senate Minority Whip Trent Lott (R-MI) defended Bush’s selective declassification of the intelligence”. He may not know why Bush did it, but he sure as hell knows why he didn’t: “the administration would never declassify intel ‘just for political purposes.’”

Bush put on his best rabble-rousing act. Are you properly terrified as you go about your daily lives, he asked America? Well, here’s why you should be: “Hear the words of Osama bin Laden”! And he declaims Osama’s message with a lot more passion than Osama himself does.

There is only one true terrorist, and George Bush is his press secretary.

Any time Americans are in danger of forgetting — or any time Bush wants to raise the spirits of his legions — Bush repeats Osama’s message in ringing tones, broadcasts it throughout the land.

Are you properly terrorized yet? Don’t worry. You will be, by the end of Memorial day weekend. That’s the President’s plan.

Yes, that’s the terror plot Bush unveiled today. His plot. To terrify the crap out of Americans in the next few days. But don’t take my word for it. Just watch this piece of work go to work.

I guess it started early. Apparently Bush made an Executive Order back on May 9 that gives him dictatorial powers in case of a national emergency.

Translated into layman’s terms, when the president determines a national emergency has occurred, the president can declare to the office of the presidency powers usually assumed by dictators to direct any and all government and business activities until the emergency is declared over.

No one seems to be reporting on this so I figured this was a good place to start letting people know.

Fuck. Fuckity shit fuck, motherfucker. What are we supposed to do? Run around in the street screaming, waving our hands in the air? What’s it going to take for everyone (or at least 2/3 majority) to wake up and ditch the whole administration? Terrorist plot? NO terrorist plot? Detention without cause for every resident of every odd-numbered building in every city in America? Some sort of weird mirror?
