Bombing the Bay
by matt at 2:45 pm on May 3rd, 2007 in PhotosLast weekend I shot the San Francisco Bay Bombers vs. Brooklyn Red Devils roller derby game for SFist. I went into this not knowing what to expect since the last time I heard anything about roller derby was probably watching it with Cohen Sr. about 25 years ago. I can say with all sincerity, roller derby is entertaining as hell.
More photos on Flickr and a slideshow here.
And while we’re on the subject of slideshows, I made one out of my Katrina anniversary trip at the request of some people in New Orleans who are looking to incorporate them into something pretty big. I don’t think they’ll use the song I picked, but don’t let that stop you from turning it up. “George Bush ain’t a gold digger…”

since when do you listen to the white stripes?
and speaking of watching things with Cohen Sr., i hope you will be happy to know that they’ve released WKRP on DVD, however, they had to take all the good songs out because of liscensing fees. wherever Cohen Sr. is you can bet he’s jamming to the oldies with Mr. Carlson, The Big Guy.
