Quote Of The Day
by sarabeth at 5:20 am on March 31st, 2007 in Bush Man Date, Corruption, General GonzoOf yesterday, actually. The Attorney General of the United States of America:
“At the end of the day, I know what I did.”
Unfortunately, people are unable to suppress an automatic response of: “But when did you know it?”
Knowing what you did only at the end of the day is really not good enough. Knowing what you did only after multiple twists and turns, and an all-too-public process of coming to know, is really not good enough.
It’s great that you know, Mr. General Gonzales. Because at this point so does everyone else. And, somehow, way too many people seemed to know before you did.
The real question, though, may now be: “Do you know what you are going to do?” Or maybe not. Almost everyone seems to know that too. So how about this: “Do you know when you are going to do it?”
