Still Want to Argue for Free Speech?

So the question to the defenders of General Peter Pace is this: What say you about this?

A life-size sculpture of a naked Jesus made out of chocolate has angered a Roman Catholic organization and forced a Manhattan art gallery to reconsider exhibiting it during Easter week.
[…]
The Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights called for a boycott of the accompanying Roger Smith Hotel, writing to 500 religious and secular organizations.

“This is an assault on Christians during Holy Week,” said Kiera McCaffrey, director of communications for the league, which describes itself the largest U.S. Catholic civil rights group.

So a private art gallery can’t display what they want. Interesting. Do they not have the right of free speech? And remember, my point about Pace wasn’t that he wasn’t free to say what he wanted, but that it was improper for him to say it in uniform in the context of an official interview in his capacity as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

So theocons, what’s it going to be?

The rest of you pervs can check out a photo here.

Update: cancelled. I wonder what’s going to happen to all of that chocolate. Eat Jesus? Nullus.

I’m not sure I understand the sculpture. Transubstantiation ought to be sweeter?
