Legacy Photo Show

Some of you know that Jamie and I lost our father last year. He was obviously a big influence on us, in every respect. To memorialize and celebrate his life, we’ve put together a gallery show of his photography and mine in Pittsburgh. It opens today and runs through January 7th.

For more information on Legacy, the site is here. If you’re in or around Pittsburgh, stop by Coca Café (412-621-3171) at 3811 Butler Street in Lawrenceville.

Hours:
Tuesday-Friday: 7am – 3pm
Saturday: 9am – 3pm
Sunday: 10am – 3pm

Bill O’Driscoll of the Pittsburgh City Paper writes:

When devout amateur photographer Neil I. Cohen gave his 12-year-old son, Matthew, a hand-me-down camera, he didn’t know it would lead to a career in photography. The senior Cohen, a Stanton Heights resident and longtime athletic director at Community College of Allegheny County, died last year. But his work and Matt’s are exhibited together in Legacy: Images from a Father and Son, starting today at Coca Café. Neil’s wry, poetic approach complements (and sometimes overlaps) the passionate street photography and photojournalism of his California-based son, whose credits include such publications as The Washington Post.

And if you can’t make it in person, the photos in the show can be viewed and/or purchased here.

We’d like to thank Jason for the flyer design, Dean for helping us hang the show, and Rob for the professional printing and framing.
