So Confused
by matt at 8:00 am on November 19th, 2006 in '06/'08 Campaigns, MediaThe media and many Republican talking heads have been warning me that newly-elected Senators Jon Tester and Jim Webb only won their elections because they are more like Republicans than Democrats. But I just saw them on Meet the Press, and they were talking about how their top legislative priorities are making things better for workers and reigning in free trade.
I don’t know who to believe, Republicans or my lyin’ eyes. And ears.

I saw the same thing. Both of them talked meat and potatoes issues. Refreshingly absent was anything about gays, guns and God. The Republicans may believe, and possibly be correct, that these two are social conservatives. However, with the Democrats in control of Congress and having **plenty** on their plate, that unholy trinity of bullshit won’t even reach the floor.
