Our Duty Under The Sherman Antitrust Act

It is our duty to oppose all monopolies. Let us not concede to evangelicals the exclusive right to merge politics and prayer. Let us pray right back.

Let us hope, let us pray that you can’t indeed get away with screwing all of the sheeple all of the time.

Let us hope that the universe is so deeply offended by what has gone down the last six years that it spits up the offenders, and flushes them out of the political system into the system where they truly belong. (That would be the sewer system, I believe.)

Let us pray that everyone in America with a thinking brain and a caring heart, everyone who thinks they care about real freedom and real liberty – rather than the fascist version Bushitler has been selling – rises up to declare what they believe and what they believe in.

Let us hope that the hate-stoking lie-spewing fearmongers crap their pants today.

Let us pray that Karl Rove is finally laid to rest in his coffin with the appropriate wooden device firmly driven through his vacant heart-cavity.

Let us hope that our entire political system does not remain in thrall to people who have wet dreams about torture.

Let us be greedy and pray that Dick Cheney is at the receiving end of a hunting accident which peppers his behind with buckshot. This time they call the media right away and medical assistance is rendered only the next morning.

Let us hope and pray that this election will be decided by voters in the polling booth and not by questionable legal decisions or by electronic vote tampering.

Let us hope and pray that those who are grimly determined to protect America against terrorism at all costs do not decide in the very near future that America can be protected only if the government – ever so reluctantly, and totally humbled by the enormity of the charge they are forced to accept – temporarily removes itself from the purview of the will of the people. Let us hope and let us pray that we are not about to enjoy 19 consecutive quarters of the suspension of democratic rights in order to keep us free, in order to keep our wives and daughters from being ravished by very bad men indeed. (What the heck, our sons and husbands too.)
