Michael Gerson, a key aide and speechwriter for President Bush until this summer, will soon join the Washington Post as op-ed columnist, the paper announced today. Gerson will start in January with a twice-weekly column that will also be syndicated.
I was under the impression that the Post’s news reporters were doing just fine in their job of injecting administration talking points into news pages, so maybe this is a tacit admission that George Will, Charles Krauthammer, Robert Kagan and Fareed Zakaria just aren’t up to the task of keeping the damn libruls at bay. Gerson to the rescue!
Maybe someone can direct me to the list of Clinton speechwriters currently holding such valuable op-ed real estate.
