Scotty, we’ll miss you the most:

White House press secretary Scott McClellan announced his resignation on Wednesday as part of a shake-up of President George W. Bush’s senior aides.

“I have given it my all, sir,” McClellan told Bush outside the White House before a group of reporters. He said he would stay on over the next two or three weeks to allow time for a transition to his successor, who has not yet been named.

how sad it is that the face delivering the news about the failed policies matters more to the image of the administration than the actual people making the policy. goes to show you how perceptive the american people are…….

Do you think the president’s numbers will go up considering there will be a “new face” to the administration?

no. it seems most of the country has decided to tune out whoever is doing the talking.

You knew it was going to happen eventually, but ’tis a sad day for those of us who have finally learned how to spell Scottie’s name correctly.

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again. The raison d’etre of this Administration has been to run the White House like a Fortune 500 company. They’re far less interested in protecting public goods than with providing returns to their investors, and whenever they get called on those failings, seem incapable of thinking about it as anything but a public relations problem.

Enron, Worldcom, Bush-Cheney… birds of a feather. I wouldn’t trust any one of them to watch my dog for five minutes.

I just lost $50. I bet that McClellan’s reign would end when during one of the usual WH press corps gang beatings he finally blows his brains out at the podium.

    Shit.

I would have taken that action in a second.

Although it certainly wouldn’t have been unprecedented.

LOL! Budd Dwyer’s precedent was exactly what I was betting on! Oh well. I’m sure my mom will spend that $50 on something she deserves.
