Maybe We Should Get Us Some
by matt at 6:00 am on April 17th, 2006 in Best Of: Matt, Bush Man Date**UPDATE 4/17/06: I can’t wait for the bumper stickers:
The Republican Party is in serious danger of losing political ground in November elections if it does not enact reforms that eliminate waste and hold the federal bureaucracy to higher standards, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich said on Sunday.
Considering that all these Republicans are talking about reform 12 years after taking over Congress, I don’t know which is sillier: Them running from their achievements or Democrats just waiting to let them off the hook.

**UPDATE 5/18/05: Reform this:
Because of our achievements, the American people see the Republican Party as the party of reform and optimism, the party of ideals and vision.

Junior: Well he’s the reform candidate, Daddy.
[Pappy narrows his eyes at him, wondering what he's getting at.]
Pappy O’Daniel: …Yeah?
Junior: Well people like that reform. Maybe we should get us some.
[Pappy whips off his hat and slaps at Junior with it.]
Pappy O’Daniel: I’ll reform you, you soft-headed sonofabitch! How we gonna run reform when we’re the damn incumbent!
