The Frist Presidential Strategy

Bill Frist certainly seems to have an interesting strategy for positioning himself as a Presidential candidate. Going by his performance on the immigration reform legislation, he’s going to be the “get it done” candidate. He’s going to produce results, one way or the other. Take a complicated issue, put everyone under the gun, and force a result. Forget about taking the time to get it right. Just get it done.

He clearly believes that voters care more about getting it done than getting it right. And going by the track record of Bush’s Presidency, who is to say that Frist is wrong? This may eventually catch up with you in your second term. But if it gets you elected and then re-elected, if it keeps your poll numbers sky-high for five years, it must be the way to go. Trying to get it right is for Democrat wussies.
