Global Warming is Simply an Illusion

Greenland Glaciers Dumping More Ice:

Warmer temperatures over the past decade have sped up the march of Greenland’s southern glaciers to the Atlantic Ocean, where the ice and water they spill contribute more to the global rise in sea levels than previously thought.

Those faster-moving glaciers now dump in a year twice as much ice into the Atlantic as they did in 1996, researchers said Thursday. The resulting icebergs, along with increased melting of Greenland’s ice sheet, could account for nearly 17 percent of the estimated one-tenth of an inch annual rise in global sea levels, or twice what was previously believed, said Eric Rignot of NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Calif.

Luckily Greenland’s proximity to the Thermohaline conveyor is an illusion too. Otherwise, we might be in trouble.

Well, LaVonda (my Honda) has always wanted to be a Bond machine submarine. Screw the 820+ leaks, just flood the thing.

    Interesting article…

Notice these scientist have actually shown a correlation between the Earths temperature and the sun activity. Does anyone have any counter claims to this article?

    Another article…

So why do we have such contradictory scientific findings? Is one group or the other simply lying? Or can the data be interpreted differently?

Here is another interesting article about the Earth orbital changes and precession as causes of global climate change…

so we should take the word of some disgruntled opponents of kyoto over NASA scientists? maybe you can draw us a chart of government infallibility, and whether it covers only the white house and pentagon or if it extends to other departments.

What about the many other resources that aren’t disgruntled over Kyoto? What about the link from Space.com? Fact is there is inconclusive data over the results of increased CO2 and warming. I’m not saying that global warming isn’t happening just not convinved we’re the cause.

Do you also think the sun caused the flame-retardant chemicals that are poisoning polar bears into extinction?

    No, next question…

since the first headline reads,”Happy Birthday, Charles Darwin!”, I doubt it will sway professor jimC any.

That first article from 1997 is pretty interesting. Oh, but we’ve had seven of the nine warmest years on record since then, haven’t we?

Jim, climate change is about as “controversial” as gravity now.
