Soledad O’Brien Does Not Care About Interview Preparation

After we established the fact that CNN spokesmodel Soledad O’Brien doesn’t know anything about Abu Musab Al Zarqawi, and further doesn’t care to do research, she walked into an interview with U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales completely unprepared:

Soledad O’Brien:…You think that the Foreign Intelligence Service Act does not go far enough? It’s not fast enough, a secret court? Is that what you’re saying?

Alberto Gonzales: I’m told by the operational folks at the National Security Agency that we do not have the speed and the agility in all cases, in every circumstance, to deal with this new kind of threat.

An actual journalist might have cited the 72 hours that the government has to retroactively get wiretaps approved under FISA, but instead O’Brien moved on to softball questions about whiny Congressmen and potential investigations.

Rather than continuing to let Farrah Fawcett-O’Brien embarrass herself and damage what’s left of their news reputation, CNN should let actual journalists conduct news interviews and save Soledad for those fascinating pop culture segments with Touré .
