The dangers of using a feed reader

  • Seeing this headline out of context was almost enough to send me over the edge:

Learning that it was football player Rich and not manwhore Jeff was not enough to stave off shock.

  • Time magazine’s blog of the year

  • Armando at Daily Kos ponders what kind of drugs it must take to write something like this from Powerline:

It must be very strange to be President Bush. A man of extraordinary vision and brilliance approaching to genius, he can’t get anyone to notice. He is like a great painter or musician who is ahead of his time, and who unveils one masterpiece after another to a reception that, when not bored, is hostile.

    Armando says:

Lance [Eric Stoltz for those who don’t remember the names of characters] must have sold them the choco from the Hartz Mountains. (Pulp Fiction reference.)

I have to disagree with that particular assessment. It had to have been the window pane acid from The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test.

  • Ensuring suspect elections nationwide

  • After the 2000 Florida and 2004 Ohio elections, you might think that having fair and accurate elections was no longer a priority in this country. You would be mostly correct. The President is set to appoint Colorado Secretary of State Donetta Davidson to the federal Election Assistance Commission:

Davidson…waited until nearly half of Colorado’s 16,000 election judges were trained last fall before issuing a uniform rule manual.

She also was criticized after the names of 6,000 state parolees and prisoners popped up on voter-registration rolls and as many as 68,000 state voters - including Davidson - were registered more than once.

    Jesus, it’s happening again.
