Thin Sources

Media Matters has a statement from MSNBC host Joe Scarborough explaining why he canceled his show’s booking of The Truth About Hillary author Ed Klein:

“After learning the stories were inflammatory, the sources were weak, and the book’s relevance was less than zero, I canceled the booking.”

After Joe Conason destroyed Klein on Air America last week, it’s not surprising to see even more people distancing themselves from Klein’s putrid garbage. But Scarborough lecturing someone else on inflammatory stories and weak sourcing? This moment in Scarborough Country only happened two months ago:

“And, finally, Arnold Schwarzenegger. You know, this guy has been in so much trouble. He‘s got sagging poll numbers. He‘s got political groups criticizing his every move. And now the governator is making all his enemies‘ job easier. According to “The London Evening Standard,” Arnold recently went on Howard Stern‘s radio show and offered his theory on how to end premenstrual syndrome, saying—quote—“If we get rid of the moon, women‘s, whose menstrual cycles are governed by the moon, will not get PMS. They will stop bitching and whining.”
