Since the statue coverup was a favorite topic around here during Crisco John Ashcroft’s tenure at the Justice Department, we’d like to note with a small sense of satisfaction that “Spirit of Justice” and “Majesty of Law” are once again topless and ready to party:
Two soaring blue drapes that hung in the department’s Great Hall were unceremoniously removed yesterday, once again revealing a pair of risque Art Deco-era sculptures that flank the room’s stage.
No word on whether the drapes will be sent to Ashcroft’s home to prevent him from accidentally seeing his wife naked. Or heaven forbid, vice versa.
