Tom DeLay Wants To Feel You From the Inside

As Tom DeLay adjusts to life under the microscope of ethics inquiries, it should come as no surprise that he chooses to frame the controversy in the most favorable of lights — that is, the whole situation is the fault of the democrats and their lackeys in the liberal media, and he is as pure as the driven snow. He will suffer through this indignity with a crown of thorns on his head, just like Jesus — that is, if Jesus had an appetite for expensive golf junkets and indian casinos. He shot under par for your sins, didn’t you hear?

According to a transcript of the interview released by Fox News Radio, DeLay was asked how the recent scrutiny has affected him.

“Well, it certainly has gotten me closer to God,” DeLay said. “You don’t like seeing this and it hurts your family. It hurts your staff…. But, you know, we’re not going to take it. We’re fighting back.”

The cynical among us would say that Reuters made an error in the quote, using “God” instead of “That big red guy with the horns and pitchfork”. Fair enough. But who ever imagined that the House Majority Leader was such a huge Nine Inch Nails fan?

You let me violate you, you let me desecrate you
You let me penetrate you, you let me complicate you
Help me I broke apart my insides, help me I’ve got no
Soul to tell
Help me the only thing that works for me, help me get
Away from myself
I want to fuck you like an animal
I want to feel you from the inside
I want to fuck you like an animal
My whole existence is flawed
You get me closer to god

Nine Inch Nails “Closer” (1994)

Wow. Consider us impressed, though it would have been far more appropriate (and FCC-friendly) if DeLay had gone with a different selection from the NIN archives…

God money I’ll do anything for you.
God money just tell me what you want me to.
God money nail me up against the wall.
God money don’t want everything he wants it all.
(…)
Bow down before the one you serve.
You’re going to get what you deserve.

Nine Inch Nails “Head Like a Hole (1991)

That seems about right.
