Treasury Secretary John Snow not only has a less than ideal understanding of his job responsibilities, he also appears to have a limited grasp on the political ramifications of ignoring public opinion:

“I remain confident we will see legislation this year. I think private accounts are going to be an integral part of any solution. There’s only one ultimate poll and that’s what the Congress does.”
