Wow, first they disband the Iraqi army (depriving thousands of humiliated Iraqi men w/ combat training of income), and now this. It almost makes you think noone in the Bush Administration has bothered to catch up on over 20 years of post-Cold War political and social theory.

This quote of Rummy's is the most precise explication of this administration's philosophical orientation that they've given us yet. His message to you as a citizen and subject of the state is that participatory democracy is ceremony, useful primarily for molding a more compliant and passive populace - preferably one that cannot effectively interfere with the deployment of power. For an administration so earnest in its determination to deceive and mislead it is, in fact, remarkable how frequently they speak with such open honesty. More remarkable is our national refusal to hear it.

when is enough going to be enough? how many people building schools for kids will have to be beheaded publicly before we get it? these monsters dont need help from us to rebuild, they need to be exterminated. I agree with the Bush administration going into Iraq because we were attacked, but then all this hanging around afterward is just a waste of life. Bush should have gone in big, destroyed everything, and i mean everything even remotely suspect (why give quarter when you will never be given any?), and gotten out.
